Need I Say More?

Case closed, from those that know her best: "She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?" said Lyda Green, the president of the State Senate, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?"

Palin is a joke. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious and tragic.

Copyrights 101

Why is it impossible for Republicans to get their small minds around the basic idea of a copyright? For the umpteenth time in this campaign, and the second time in two weeks, John McCain has appropriated and publicly performed a song as part of the stagecraft of his campaign without obtaining permission from the copyright holders or paying royalties. Specifically, McCain used Van Halen's "Right Now" at the end of Palin's speech yesterday, much to the dismay of Van Halen who are against his candidacy. I don't know what's a more telling sign, the fact that they consistently violate people's copyrights or that they think someone in America still might think "Right Now" was a cool song. When Van Halen published that I was 9 and John McCain was already old.

Using someone copyrighted work without permission is more commonly referred to as "theft". You'd think Republicans could get their heads around that simple concept but apparently not because McCain isn't even the first. Each of the Republican presidents over the past 35 years has had the same problem. Reagan was told to stop using "Born in the USA" by Springstein, and both Bush Sr. and Bush Stupid did the same thing. Even Bob Dole got slapped on the wrist.

So is it stupidity or theivery? Do they not understand what intellectual property rights are or do they just not care. I mean I realize McCain doesn't understand what a computer is, but he has to have at least read a book at some point in time and have been at least somewhat aware that someone else wrote it and owns the rights to it, right? Hey dumb-ass, wake up: you don't own that song!!! Can we really have a President who doesn't understand what a copyright is anymore than we can have one who does understand, but doesn't care. I don't know which is worse, but both disqualify you as POTUS.

Sarah Who?

Proving once again that even Republicans don't believe their own talking points, after six months of attacking Barack Obama for allegedly not being experienced enough to be President of the United States, John McCain selected the least experienced Republican in the entire country to be his VP. Either that or she actually is the most qualified Republican in the country and I never realized just how bare the GOP cubbard was.
The idea that this woman could actually be a heart-beat away from running the country is downright terrifying. She's been governor of one the least populated states in the union for 18 months and is already being investigated for a firing scandal involving State Troopers.
As upsetting, the choice of Sarah Palin is a blatant insult to the intelligence of every woman across this country. The idea that women, Hilary Clinton supporters in particular, would vote for McCain simply because he put a woman on the ticket, irrespective of how bad she may be, is a slap in the face. At the end of the day, Republicans still don't get women voters: they think your dumb-asses. Palin isn't even the most qualified Republican woman; Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Olympia Snowe, and a dozen others are infinitely more qualified. Palin's only qualification seems to be that she's cute; again, the Republican's view of all women. That and she likes killing animals, moose to be exact. This is insulting. It's a gimmick.
If god forbid, McCain gets elected and even worst he died in office, does anyone actually think this person is ready? Putting aside her complete lack of experience, accomplishment, or anything else, let's discuss her positions on the issues. Palin wants to ban abortion even in the case of rape or incest. She wants to drill for oil everywhere and anywhere. She has said she really hasn't spent much time "following" the Iraq war. How in god's name do you not "follow" the war that's killed thousands of Americans??? It's not like missing this week's American Idol, it's been going on for six years.
In truth, Palin's appointment proves just how little chance his campaign really has. He saw very well that the choice of a Romney or Liebermann would do nothing to help him catch up and win. So John McCain had to roll the dice and take someone, anyone, who "might" upset the balance and shake up the campaign. If nothing else, it's certain shaken that up.

Breaking News: John McCain was a POW; Who Knew???

McCain campaign insiders have just confirmed the rumors swirling around the campaign the past 24 hours: yes, John McCain was apparently a prisoner of war (POW) in Vietnam. . . . . My god! Who knew? All this time I thought he had made his name as a rodeo clown. What a shocker!!! By the way, did I mention he was a POW in Vietnam? This is an amazing development to be sure. All this time Americans were under the impression that somehow this unintelligent neanderthalic bar-brawler with an anger management problem had only married his way into riches and his first Congressional seat. Release of this fantastic news begs the question why John McCain and his campaign didn't let us know earlier that he had been a POW. After all, for these past 35 years I thought Bob Dole had been wearing a Lance Armstrong bracelet on his wrist. By the way, did I mention he was a POW? If only I had known. . .

John McCain's entire campaign has become a noun, a verb, and "POW." Why did he cheat on his first wife and then divorce her (family values at its purest), because he was a POW. Why wasn't he in the so-called "cone of silence" and did he get the questions to Reverand Warren's session ahead of time: he was a POW. Why couldn't he remember how many homes he actually owns? Surprise surprise, because he was a POW. Why does he get into fist-fights with members of his own political party? Answer: because he was a POW (although in this particular case, and in his defense, he may actually still think he's there and in his own mind be swinging at the VC so maybe this is understandble). I wonder: if John McCain stole a Winnebago and murdered a family of five, would it also be because he was a POW?

Last night I almost got sick watching McCain on Jay Leno. When Leno started to ask how many homes he owned McCain cut him off to say that he had spent five years in a tiger-cage somewhere. Really? That's your answer? Is it the dementia that's set in from those years that's making you forget your homes? Maybe we should pin a note with your home address on your chest just in case you get lost, "If found, please return this dottering old man to. . . "

What really upsets me though is that I didn't think of it first. Its the answer to everything! Got pulled over for a speeding ticket? I'm a POW. Bank foreclose on your home? I was a POW. Health insurance got cut off because you lost your job? I was a POW. In fact, I saw several people with that exact sign under the highway overpass on my way to work this morning. Its like the magic elixir you buy from a snake-oil salesman: it cures everything. To think I've wasted all these years in bars hitting on women by telling them I'm an astronaut and how big my johnson is, when I could have just been telling them I'm a POW. Next April I'm sending my 1040 forms into the IRS with the words POW stamped across it and declaring zero income. It's full proof!!!

Incidentally, how much credit are you supposed to get you for things you had entirely no control over? For example, if I get hit by lightening on the head and actually live, does that make me brave or just hard-headed? Because as far as I can tell McCain didn't exactly volunteer to be a POW. In fact, I really don't think he had much of a choice in the matter. Thats actually kind of the idea of being a POW, that you don't really have much say. I only ask because I had appendicitis once and it really hurt. That may not get me to the White House but I should at least be allowed to get a State Senate seat or something, right? For my bravery.

Being a POW or for that matter, being anything else, does not give you a "Get out of Jail free" card which obviates the need to answer for your actions, your policies, or more importantly their repurcussions on the country. Just because I'm a POW doesn't allow me to murder orphans. Just because I survived a war doesn't allow me to rob banks. And just because McCain was a POW doesn't allow him to lie to us and the American people nor become President of the United States. It does not clean up his record. It does not make his policies any better. Put simply, McCain being a POW doesn't pay my taxes, fix the economy, end the war in Iraq, cure cancer, better the environment, teach my kids to read, nor prevent other people from becoming POWs.

McCain's incarceration 40 years ago (in another war that was useless) is no substitute for actual policies and solutions to our nation's problems. His attempt to use it to avoid answering real questions or putting forth real programs that actually help Americans is an insult to our intelligence and belittles the bravery he would have us believe he possesses. Stop waving your red badge of courage in my face and answer the question. But he wont, because that would take real courage. . .

Is Cindy McCain a Trollop?

We've all heard the story:

"In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days."

Ever since this story surfaced it's been used as an example of John McCain's short fuse, his inability to process data rationally let alone take a joke (even if its from his wife). And that certainly is one possibility. But now people say there may be another explanation for this tyrade: maybe Cindy really IS a trollop. Let that sink in for a moment. Now, just to be clear, we're not calling her a trollop at all; heaven forbid. But a lot of "people" are saying "hey, maybe he was telling the truth, maybe she really is a slutty trollop. In fact, wasn't that Cindy McCain who flashed her boob during the Super Bowl?"

Typically this website steers clear of negative rumors and innuendos. But, we do have an obligation to our readers to cover breaking stories once they are widespread and worthy. And we do have to investigate the scandalous claims that an American hero like John McCain, a man who, lest we forget, was a POW during World War I, might have anger management issues. So although we won't take a position on whether Cindy is a common whore or whether its John McCain who's completely disturbed; whether Cindy's a trailer-trash hussie or John McCain is riding the short bus and wearing a helmet when no one's looking. And how long has John McCain known that Cindy was a harlot anyway? Always? Recently? Was Sturgis the first time he entered his wife into a wet T-shirt contest or did he meet her when she was dancing at the Boom Boom Bar in Phuket Thailand? Who can tell. But, we do promise to keep on top of this story as it develops in a fair, objective, and professional manner. . .just like Fox News.

Millionaire Mansion McCain

Don't know how many homes you own? You're either senile, lying, or both. Take your pick. Personally, I go for the two-fer.
